SGC Camp Offerings
|

Our class offerings during the year are designed to:
- explore new and different repertoire
- work with different faculty and girls than are at rehearsal
- learn new skills
- and have fun!
Each class is designed and taught by Seattle Girls' Choir's talented faculty

Music Day Camp - Full Day
Monday - Friday, 10 am - 3 pm
Concert on Friday at 3 pm
Girls going into 2nd through 5th grades
$295
Session 1: July 22nd - July 26th, 2013
Session 2: July 29th - August 2nd, 2013
The Seattle Girls' Choir hosts week long day camps for girls who love singing to build
choral skills in a non-auditioned choir, exploring sound with various instruments and
finding new reasons to love making music while meeting new friends!

Musical Mornings Camp - Half Day
Monday - Friday, 9:30 am - noon
Performance on Friday at 11:30 am
Girls and Boys age 4 to incoming 1st grade
$150

Theme: Creepies, Crawlies, and Things that Fly

Our Day Camp staff includes:
Dr. Sarah Bartolome:
Sarah is an Assistant Professor of Music Education at Louisiana State University,
where she also directs the LSU Girls' Choir. An authority on elementary music
education, she also does fieldwork in classrooms all over the world including Ghana,
Sierra Leone, and South Africa. She will share her love and knowledge of world music
throughout the camp activities.

Mary Anne Braund:
Mary Anne is our camp choir conductor. She has a Master's degree in Music Education
with emphasis on vocal pedagogy, performance and choral music and conducts SGC's
Vivissimi choir (3rd and 4th grade) during the school year. For over 20 years she has
taught music in public and private schools, including elementary vocal and high
school choral music.

Dr Sara Watts:
Sara a specialist in early childhood and elementary music education, with particular
interests in Orff Schulwerk pedagogy, musical play, and musical movement. She teaches
at Bucknell University, (PA), and this will be her third year working with our SGC
summer programs.

Choir Camp is one of the highlights of the choir year! A week away to focus on choir music
theory and sight-singing, interesting elective classes, and fun participating in our
traditional activities. It is a wonderful, empowering, time for girls to come together to
work, play, and make friends.
