Our Mission: Seattle Girls’ Choir provides a robust education in the choral arts, helping girls build skills to succeed in life, and enriching the cultural landscape of the Pacific Northwest.
Founded in 1982, Seattle Girls’ Choir regularly collaborates with other Seattle area arts organizations and performs at some of the most prestigious national and international choral festivals and competitions.
In 2009 the non-profit parent Guild purchased Seattle Girls’ Choir from the retiring Founder and Artistic Director, Dr. Jerome Wright, in order to consolidate the organization under its non-profit status. After a rigorous national search, Jacob Winkler was hired to succeed Dr. Wright as the new Artistic Director. SGC is governed by a board of directors with the Artistic Director sitting as faculty leadership and the Office Manager representing operations.
