Cantamus, Allegra, and Sorella will see an additional local weekend rehearsal scheduled in the fall for intensive work on current repertoire. Team building, dinner, and often a movie, are also included.
Prime Voci – an annual retreat is scheduled the second weekend of November as an opportunity for intensive rehearsal of the Carmina Angelorum program repertoire. The retreat is held at an off-site location and stay overnight.
It is common for the choir to schedule 3-5 days of intensive rehearsals prior to tours/trips.
Tours & other travel
Touring is a key part of the musical, cultural, and social experience of the choir. Tour destinations are selected primarily on the basis of their potential for providing enriching musical experiences and secondarily for their cultural and geographical interest. While on tour, choristers may participate in music festivals, community concerts, and cultural activities.
Prime Voci travels every two years on performance tours, both nationally and internationally. On the off year short domestic opportunities may be considered. It is our intention to have Cantamus travel every two years on the same schedule so that when they promote to Prime Voci there are not back-to-back significant travel costs for any one class. Cantamus travel is most often centered on a destination festival.
