The following guidelines are for the publication of, and commentary on, social media of any content relating to SGC, its faculty and staff, choristers, or volunteers. Their purpose is to protect and preserve SGC’s respected reputation and to ensure that social media is used for the betterment and advancement of the SGC community. Social media encompasses any facility for online publication and commentary, including but not limited to: blogs, wikis, and social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, and YouTube.
- Please remember, publication and commentary on social media carries similar obligations to any other kind of publication or commentary, therefore all uses of social media must follow the same basic behavioral standards.
- Remember that as SGC staff, faculty, and choir members, you represent SGC to our broader community. Please serve as ambassadors when you post.
- Only SGC approved photographs, video, and audio recordings should be used as social media content. It is critical that you respect all laws governing copyright and fair use or fair dealing of copyrighted material owned by others, including SGC.
- We ask that you demonstrate good judgment and be sure to make it clear that the views and opinions expressed are yours alone and do not represent the official views of SGC. Please be certain to contact the SGC Office prior to posting if you do not know if your chosen content meets SGC guidelines.
We also ask that the use of SGC faculty, staff, chorister, or volunteer names be used only with their consent.
