DESCRIPTION:Make your own luck this Friday the 13th! Join us for an evening of a cappella pizazz with the vocal stylings of three local groups. \nSorella is the contemporary vocal ensemble of Seattle Girls Choir. Founded in 1982\, SGC provides young singers from ages 5-19 with a high-quality music education and a place to belong. Sorella was created in 2019 to complement SGC’s choral education program with a small ensemble specializing in pop\, folk\, and contemporary styles. \nOutpour is a 7-member a cappella ensemble performing an eclectic mix of pop\, R&B\, jazz\, and millennial nostalgia. Each song is arranged by one of the group’s creative members. Singers dedicate their time out of passion for collaboration and a pursuit of ensemble excellence. Outpour’s refined sound and dynamic performances have earned recognition within the a cappella community\, and the group continues to share its music to inspire connection and joy. \nPuget Sound Company is a vocal ensemble founded in Seattle in October 2018. SUMMARY:Debussy Nocturnes with Seattle Philharmonic
DESCRIPTION:Prime Voci is honored to join the Seattle Philharmonic Orchestra for this performance of Claude Debussy’s “Nocturnes.” \nA nocturnal atmosphere hovers over this program bookended by two of the literature’s most famous pieces inspired by the magic and mystery of the nighttime hours: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Eine kleine Nachtmusik and Claude Debussy’s orchestral trilogy Nocturnes\, the latter a collaboration with the acclaimed Seattle Girls Choir. The Philharmonic’s principal cellist Soohyun Juhn takes the solo spotlight in works by sisters Lili and Nadia Boulanger\, including Lili’s Nocturne. A handful of shorter Debussy works and Franz von Suppé’s ever-popular overture to the operetta Poet and Peasant round out this unique concert. \nTickets available here.
