Seattle Girls Choir is excited to welcome Lauren Kastanas into her new role as our Executive Director! Lauren was chosen from a set of highly qualified candidates after a national search, and it was her experience as a professional fundraiser, grants specialist, and music leader that set her apart.
SGC Board President, Julia Engel, says, “The SGC board welcomes Lauren to the leadership team! We look forward to her expertise and energy to help keep our organization strong.” Sarra Sharif Doyle, Artistic Director, adds: “I am so excited to partner with Lauren and lead SGC into its next phase. Throughout the interview process, I was not only struck by Lauren’s strong foundation in fundraising and organizational management, but also by her energy, passion, and confidence in the Seattle Girls Choir. Lauren is someone who knows firsthand the transformative power of choral music and is excited to support SGC’s mission of providing young people a high-quality music education and place to belong.”
Lauren states: “It’s an honor to step into this role – I’ve been so impressed by the standard of excellence and the beautiful community at Seattle Girls Choir, and I’m thrilled at the opportunity to put my skills to work as Executive Director. I look forward to partnering with Sarra and the SGC community to advance our mission and continue providing a vibrant music education and choral home for young people.”
Lauren will dive into the Executive Director role this month as we prepare for SGC’s second semester, our annual fundraiser, summer camps, tours, and much more. Lauren will be responsible for the oversight and management of all development and administrative functions related to both the daily and long-term operations of SGC. She will partner with Sarra to provide consistent overall leadership in fulfilling SGC’s mission and the vision of the organization, as well as supervise our administrative staff. Lauren will also continue to serve in her role as director of Sorella.
