Placement auditions allow us to get acquainted with each candidate and their family! They offer us a chance to hear the candidate’s voice, ability to match pitch, make adjustments to given instructions, and determine potential placement in our program. Auditions are lowkey and offered in a super supportive and positive environment! They last approximately 10 minutes.
Each candidate will be asked to:
Match single pitches and pitches within chords. Being able to hear a note and sing it back is critical in our audition process and evaluation.
Sing a song of their choice. This song doesn’t need to be complicated — we simply want to hear something the student enjoys that demonstrates her voice. The song can be 1-2 minutes from a musical, a hymn, a folk song, something from a movie, from school, an art song, or a lighter pop song. Accompaniment/backing tracks are not necessary, and we will only need to hear shorter parts of longer songs. We look for potential, rather than polished performances!

Kindergarten – 1st Grade

2nd – 3rd Grade
Dolcine
4th – 6th Grade with little or no previous choral training
Entrata: this choir level serves as an entry point for 4th-6th graders and is designed to build choristers’ vocal and musical skills before moving into a different choir level the following season.
7th Grade and older
Our upper choir levels are currently full. We unfortunately will not be offering auditions for students 7th grade or older.
