Kyra Rengstorf is thrilled to be joining the Seattle Girls’ Choir this year! Kyra began her choral and piano training at an early age, and performed in choirs every year growing up, singing all over the world. She continued to study music as she attended Columbia University, earning a BA in Music. After several years in the education department of the Metropolitan Opera Guild, Kyra moved to Seattle to attend the University of Washington. There she earned her K-12 vocal/instrumental/general certification in Music Education, participated in the Laboratory for Music Cognition, Culture and Learning, and sang as a soprano with the Chamber Singers.
Kyra currently directs the choirs at Woodinville High School and Leota Junior High School. She has served as the conductor and accompanist for the Northshore Elementary Honors Choir, the Laurelhurst Elementary Choir, and the Wedgwood Elementary after-school choir. During the summers she can be found music directing for Summer Fun!, a performing arts day camp in Seattle, and serves as the choir director for the Lake Samish Music Camp. In her non-musical time she enjoys hiking, gardening, and fixing up her first home with her husband, Nathan.
Kyra stepped away from conducting Dolcine in 2016.
