Edelmar Obenza is excited to rejoin the Seattle Girls Choir faculty as the Entrata accompanist. Music has always been a profound means of connection for Edelmar. Playing the piano serves as his most authentic expression of this bond. When performing, Edelmar seeks to share more than just notes and rhythms; he aims to convey energy, joy, and a sense of healing to his audience. His music often transitions between upbeat, lively pieces that ignite excitement and slower, reflective melodies that soothe the spirit. Each performance offers an opportunity to provide something positive to others, whether it’s a burst of energy or a moment of peace.
For Edelmar, the piano is not merely an instrument—it’s a medium through which he can touch lives and create shared experiences. He has witnessed the transformative power of music, helping individuals find a sense of calm. This experience fuels his desire to continue sharing his music with as many people as possible. Edelmar aspires for his performances to leave a lasting impression, brightening someone’s day and reminding them of the beauty and connection that music can bring.
In addition to his work with SGC, Edelmar is the Music Director at St. George Episcopal Church in Maple Valley and a Liturgical Accompanist at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in West Seattle.
