Mary Douglas (she/her) is an organist and pianist based in Seattle. In addition to accompanying for Prime Voci, she is currently the Music Director at Magnolia Lutheran Church and a piano instructor at Cascade Piano Studio. She has enjoyed a wide range of solo and chamber music appearances around Seattle and in New York’s Hudson Valley, including with New York-based The Orchestra Now. As a continuo player, Mary previously played with the Bard College Baroque Ensemble under Renée-Anne Louprette and had multiple appearances as an organ soloist with the ensemble. Mary also performs as one half of the Goldfinch Duo with guitarist/theorbist Niall Ransford.
In addition to music, Mary is a biologist with a focus on plant community ecology. She enjoys working within and between her two disciplines, using music to interact with the world of plants. In her spare time, she loves indoor/outdoor gardening and being outside in any way that she can.
