Over the course of 10 years I’ve been able to proudly call myself a part of the SGC community.
I started as an awkward 10 year old who only knew she loved music and couldn’t wait to be around others that shared that interest. I quickly fell in love with the learning, music, and community at SGC.
I believe that more than anything else, SGC has seen me grow the most. Each stage of my life has been attributed to a choir level, starting with Vivissimi, then Allegra, Cantamus, and now Prime Voci. Each and every song has become ingrained in my brain like muscle memory.
I will never forget my first Prime Voci tour to Prague. It was my first time in Europe and my first time traveling in such a large group. I was introduced to culture, art, and architecture, but more than anything else, I formed close bonds with people I now call my best friends. I believe that the bonds I’ve made in choir are some of the strongest I have, built through hardship, perseverance, growth, and love.
So if you ask me what I love most about this choir, it would have to be everything. Because everything I have been through and learned and sang is what makes up who I am today.
