Tuition
Seattle Girls Choir rehearsal season is comprised of two five month semesters: September through January and February through June, with the addition of an August Sleep-Away Choir Camp required for girls in our three upper choir levels: Allegra, Cantamus, and Prime Voci. Tuition can be paid by season, semester, or over 10 monthly payments due on the 1stof the month.
Tuition must be current for a girl to be admitted to class and concerts. Any chorister whose account is90 days past due is subject to suspension from the Seattle Girls Choir Program until the account is brought current or alternate arrangements are agreed upon.
Each additional chorister in a family is issued a $200 tuition discount per season.
Use ofVoice and Image
This agreement gives Seattle Girls Choirand its agents permission to use all pictures of your daughter and allrecordings of her voice for purposes deemed necessary and proper for thepromotion of Seattle Girls Choir, including, but not limited to: Public ServiceAnnouncements, advertisement, concerts, festival/convention applications, television, radio, recordings, video and any recordings using future technology, as well asconcert tours in this country and abroad.
Attendance
Regular and prompt attendance at allrehearsals and performances is vital for the Choir to function as a unit. Notify staff ASAP if the member will beabsent for illness or personal performance (not rehearsal) at another event ora mandatory school event. Missing choirfor homework or a birthday party are examples of absences that are notexcused. If in doubt, please phone staff for aclarification. Two unexcused absencesare allowed, after which a conference may be called to clarify expectations.
Please email the office and your director to report absences or lateness.(stacia@seattlegirlschoir.org) Absences must be reported in prior to therehearsal, or they are considered “unexcused.” Check office phone number and/or home page of website for any weatherrelated schedule changes.
Choristers are expected to attend technicalrehearsals and perform at all concerts for their choir level. Performance in allSGC concerts is conditional on attendance at the technical rehearsal. Theconcert runs much more smoothly and comfortably for the choristers andconductors when complete choirs learn all the same information and proceduresat the technical rehearsal.
Uniforms
The Choir ownsthe formal uniforms that the girls perform in. You will be billed for a one-time $75 refundable deposit for use ofthese uniforms. Deposit must be paidprior to distribution of the uniform. There may be times when you are asked to purchase a t-shirt orsweatshirt at cost for a more casual uniform.
Withdrawals
The expectationis that choir members will participate in the entire season(September-June). During each season, vocal skills, music theory and choir continuity build towards a successfulconcert season. This creates communitywithin the choir and a sense of accomplishment for each chorister.
Notice of intentto withdraw is requested in writing/email 30 days prior to the withdrawal date. Failureto properly notify the Choir office, or to return uniform(s) and other propertyof the Choir result in continuing responsibility for paying tuition untilproper notification is received and all property is returned.
Tuition isrefunded only if a member leaves the Choir for medical reasons. SGCreserves the right to collect unpaid tuition balances by any reasonable legalmeans.
AdditionalConsiderations / Information
The SeattleGirls Choir is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 tax exempt charitable organization. In addition to the choral training we have astrong parent volunteer community who manage many aspects of additionalopportunities and activities of the Choir: concerts, tours, choir camp, and uniforms are examples of our parents’volunteer assistance. Families are encouraged to volunteer at least once perseason to support the program and opportunities provided for the girls.
Because tuitionfees only cover about 67% of choir costs, all families are asked to supporttheir daughter, and participate in our annual fundraising events.
