Sarra Sharif grew up singing in the Seattle Girls Choir under the direction of Dr. Jerome Wright. Upon graduating from SGC, Ms. Sharif went on to earn a Bachelor of Music from the University of Washington and Master of Arts in Music Education from Columbia University.
Outside of directing Allegra, Ms. Sharif is also the Choir & Orchestra Director at Kirkland Middle School, where she has taught since 2009. Ms. Sharif served as SGC’s Dolcine director from 2009-2013.
When she’s not busy teaching, Ms. Sharif sings regularly with the Byrd Ensemble and Pacific Northwest Ballet. She is a section leader and cantor at Trinity Parish Episcopal Church. Ms. Sharif lives in Seattle with her husband Orrin and their dog, Percy.
