Like schools and organizations around the world, the Seattle Girls Choir is adjusting to the massive disruption caused by the COVID-19 crisis. But instead of sitting idle, our young singers are making music virtually! Members of the our high school level choirs, Prime Voci and Sorella, recently recorded a moving rendition of the song “No Time” by American composer Susan Brumfield. Under the direction of Artistic Director Jacob Winkler, the young musicians rehearsed and recorded themselves then uploaded the videos to be edited together, in an effort to send something beautiful into the world during this challenging and uncertain time.
As soon as the video hit social media, local and national audiences took notice. The video has over 36,000 views on YouTube, and has been featured on local outlets KING 5 and KIRO 7 news outlets as well as NBC Nightline. We are very proud to have the opportunity to bring beauty and peace to people during this challenging time.
