SGC hosts Choir Camp for rising Allegra, Allegra, Cantamus and Prime Voci the first week of August each year. In addition to rehearsals and starting the season’s repertoire, the choristers participate in music themed electives, evening crafts, talent show, and much more. At choir camp we naturally have fun together and strengthen chorister friendships, but we also learn SGC traveling routines and habits that help prepare for future festival/touring opportunities. SGC choir camp is required for these choir levels.
The SGC faculty are our camp faculty. Parents chaperone the groups, coordinate evening activities and crafts, and get an amazing inside look at this special SGC tradition. Parents are also needed to volunteer to help the caterers in the kitchen.
Vivissimi Day Camp
In order to bridge learning from June to September a Vivissimi summer session is scheduled the last week of July. This includes choristers promoting into and returning to Vivissimi in the fall. The director will continue core choral skills and begin building community with the new combination of choristers. The afternoons will include breakout theory sessions as well as folk dancing and hand chime instruction.
