Come learn the intricacies of today’s pop styles in Seattle Girls Choir’s Sorella (“Sister”).
This ensemble will feature music from a wide variety of contemporary vocal artists, such as H.E.R., Moonchild, Lianna La Havas, Sara Bareilles, Laura Mvula, and more. In Sorella, you will learn how to sing in a wide variety of pop styles, how to perform effectively on stage, how to work with other musicians, how to arrange and reimagine your favorite songs, or even how to bring your own songs to life. Along with creative development, you will receive further training in all the areas that make a musician most successful – music theory, ear training, and sight-reading. Sorella prepares young musicians for a future in today’s contemporary music scene, whether it be a career in performance, composition, or education. If you’re a young artist that just can’t get enough music in their life, this is the group for you!
Rehearsals will be on Monday nights from 7:30-9:30. The ensemble is open to girls 14-19 years old and is not limited to current SGC choristers.
