Uniform Info

Seattle Girls’ Choir owns and maintains the primary performance dresses for each choir level.  A one-time refundable deposit is collected before uniforms are issued to choristers.

The following documents are an overview of uniforms for each choir level.  The instructions are meant to provide a consistent appearance of the girls while performing so as not to draw attention away from the music.

Performance shoes

SGC does keep a modest inventory of loaner shoes.  Girls are welcome to borrow a pair for the season and return in the spring with her uniform.  And we welcome donations of used shoes as well.

Reminder:  Dolcine, Vivissimi, and Allegra all wear black patent leather shoes.

Mary-Jane style ideal or similar simple style with no adornments.

Cantamus and Prime Voci wear black character shoes.  Character shoes are often worn by stage performers and have a small strap and less than two inch heal.

Uniform Fittings

In the fall SGC hosts uniform fittings at the Choir Office.  These are held on the weekend so as not to disrupt rehearsals.

In the spring we host a uniform check at the Choir Office.  At this time we issue new uniforms to girls who have grown and/or filled out.  By far the biggest adjustment is the hem length.  In our experience 9 out of 10 girls need hems changed due to growth spurt and body changes.
