2014-2015 Giving Letter

When asked about what the Seattle Girls’ Choir experience meant to her, one of our alumna answered with the following:

“The most important thing I learned from choir was how to hold my chin up in situations that were new or alien to me.  I learned self-reliance, integrity, theory, how to sing, and how to live.”

As we enjoy our holiday performances this season, we celebrate the opportunity to hear our singers perform the songs they’ve been working on so diligently since September. But we all know, as does the alumna mentioned above, that the Seattle Girls’ Choir experience is about so much more than performing on a stage.

Creating meaningful experiences for our singers isn’t quick or easy.  It’s hard work – for both SGC’s staff and for the singers themselves. Yet, of course, we cherish the opportunity to introduce new music each week, to bring kids to camp every summer, to create dynamic tour experiences, and to watch each singer mature musically and personally as they prepare for their time to shine on the stage. And to teach them how to live.

This year, tuition and ticket sales will fall $45,000 short of meeting SGC’s operating costs. Donations from caring individuals like you make up the difference. You allow us to be ambitious, to offer our singers and audiences one-of-a-kind musical opportunities.

Will you consider a generous gift  today? If every SGC family committed to a gift of this size, we’d be well on our way to reaching our goal.

You understand the importance of Seattle Girls’ Choir. You know better than anyone that a gift to SGC is an extraordinary investment. We create a marvelous, magical world where every child can find a voice. It’s a place where achievement and excellence and unbridled joy are the news of the day…every day.

Thank you for your trust and continued support. Every single singer who walks through our doors for rehearsal each week has you to thank. You’ve helped inspire confidence and a life-long love of music. You’ve changed lives.

Gratefully,
